Open Edition Saturday, March 23, 2002 – "Spring has again come to Charleston. I wandered through downtown streets trying to select a subject to paint from the flood of colors emerging everywhere in the Old City. At the corner of Ladson and Meeting Streets, red and white Azaleas bursting through the balustrade of an ancient wall caught my attention. The beautiful white and crimson blossoms seemed to say… “Look at me! It’s Spring, don’t you know; and everything is going to be alright.” ~ John C. Doyle
